drum-tec Hybrid Pro Mesh Head
- Single ply
- Very thick material
- Higher baseline volume
- Authentic rebound
This robust mesh head was specifically developed for e-drummers focusing on an authentic playing feel. Due to the special pro-fabric, the "tennis racketeEffect" - well-known from simpler Mesh Heads - is eliminated almost entirely.
Because of the thicker fabric, the pro mesh heads generate a higher noise level. Thus, they are perfectly suitable for situations in which volume development is not an issue or even preferred: Due to the sonorous characteristics it is also useful for practicing without a sound module.

Bluffant
Unmatched feel but louder than others
I've tried Remo Silent strokes, Drum tec Real feels and now this. Hands down this Pro mesh head feels the closest to a regular acoustic mylar head. The rebound is consistent and precise. Trigger response is phenomenal. There are only two downsides for me. First of all the sound. This thing is considerably louder than the Real feel and basically the sound is more resonant and echoey. So you need to stuff your shell with a pillow or something if you can't handle the noise. Second of all I don't like the transparent look. Real feel is almost totally white, like a coated drum head. This is somewhere between coated and transparent. If you don't care for those inconveniences, then this is the mesh to go for. I can't imagine theres anything closer to mylar. Bought this for my snare and stuffed the shell with some foam sheet. Very satisfied with the purchase!
