The Blast bass drum heads have an integrated damping ring around the edge of the head and are therefore pleasantly pre-damped. They sound warm and balanced and have a pleasant percussive kick. The coating makes the head sound slightly warmer than the Blast Clear BD head. The Code Blast bass drum heads have an extended, more pleasant frequency response and more "head sound" compared to similar makes.
