SDX expansion pack for Superior Drummer
Elliot Scheiner has shaped the sound of countless legendary album productions such as "Aja" and "Gaucho" by Steely Dan, worked on a total of 91 platinum and 14 gold-certified records, received 27 Grammy Award nominations (eight of which he won), four Emmy nominations (two of which he won) and three TEC Award nominations and was also inducted into the TEC Hall of Fame and honored with the Surround Pioneer Award - Elliot Scheiner is nothing less than an absolute legend of the music industry. Add to that the fact that Elliot has recorded or mixed soundtracks for iconic Hollywood films ("The Godfather") and several highly acclaimed Broadway productions, as well as surround concerts and documentaries for Beyoncé, the Foo Fighters, the Eagles and many others, and Elliot is a luminary in the field of live and cinematic sound. What happens when you give someone like him free rein in his choice of drums, studios, microphones and equipment? An absolutely stunning recorded selection of beautiful acoustic drum sounds: The State of the Art SDX.
This SDX library for Superior Drummer 3 contains seven kits from vintage to modern, all hand-picked to showcase the ultimate range of sounds and timbres from different drum sets. Recorded at Elliot Scheiner's studio of choice, the famous Clubhouse in Upstate New York, it features three different recording spaces: the subtle, dry and dense Studio Iso, the warm and intimate sounding Library, and the harsh yet acoustically near-perfect Live Room. In addition, all kits were recorded with a Decca Tree microphone setup and sampled with alternative tools such as brushes, providing an even more versatile palette of top-notch drum sounds to choose from.
In addition to the drum sounds, mixer presets from Elliot and the Toontrack sound design team are included so you can get started right away with fully balanced and mix-ready sounds. Also included is a huge selection of custom grooves and fills inspired by the kits, Elliot's discography and the overall vibe of the session, designed and recorded by sampling/MIDI drummer Norman Garschke.
These drum sounds in this SDX are literally state of the art in every way! Five decades of practical audio artistry have gone into the entire signal chain of each individual sound echoing between the studio walls and finally recorded as a digital waveform of raw, unbridled and impressively honest sound. Elliot Scheiner uses all his expertise and pure love of the craft to make instruments sound exactly as they do. The result, reproduced in the world's most advanced and leading drum production tool, is nothing less than the exact meaning of the title of this SDX: "the highest degree of development of an art, technique or craft at a given time".
This SDX library features the best drums recorded with the best equipment in one of the best studios by one of the absolute best engineers in the history of music production.
