Bennet's Drumbook captures the essence of over 20 years of drumming experience – a comprehensive guide that unites Bennet Sawadsky’s collected knowledge and passion for drumming.

What does interactive and innovative mean?

This is not your average drum book that leaves you unsure if you're doing things right. It’s interactive and innovative – learners are actively engaged with video-based tasks and even have the chance to contact Bennet Sawadsky directly.

Yes, his phone number is actually printed in the book.

The Drumbook helps you not just read but really *practice* with proper guidance from Bennet himself.

Drummers receive a powerful tool – one that teaches essential grooves and fills, but also explores advanced concepts like independence, coordination, and Jeff Porcaro’s legendary "Rosanna" shuffle.

Readers won’t just learn what it means to be a solid drummer – they’ll also discover what it takes to be a complete musician.

Who is this book for?

Bennet's Drumbook is perfect for beginners just starting their drumming journey, as well as for fans of classic '70s and '80s rock and pop. It’s also ideal for intermediate drummers who want to expand their groove vocabulary, improve foot technique, understand song structure, and confidently place their fills.

Whether you’re having fun jamming along to your favorite tracks or you’ve been in a band for years and are hitting a wall – this book has your back.

Who is this book not for?

Bennet's Drumbook is not suited for drummers focused exclusively on metal, jazz, or Latin styles, or those primarily interested in rudiments, double bass drumming, and technical drills.

What can readers expect?

A structured, long-term drumming program designed to support you for the next 5 to 8 years. Whether you’re fulfilling a lifelong dream or already have experience – your growth will be noticeable, and your playing will level up significantly.

Eight free YouTube videos accompany the book, and Bennet provides personal feedback on the material.

And best of all: you’re not alone. If you have questions or get stuck, Bennet Sawadsky is just a call or message away.

Who is Bennet Sawadsky?

Bennet Sawadsky is the founder of a drum school in Detmold, which he launched in 2003, and since 2024, the author of his first drum method book. His passion for drumming and music has driven him since an early age. At just 14, he decided to become a professional drummer. By 17, he had already founded his own drum school, laying the foundation for his career as a musician and educator.

A major milestone in his journey was winning the German Rock and Pop Award from the Deutsche Popstiftung e.V. in 2010 with his band SixBatts. They took first place in the Rock category, joining the ranks of well-known winners like Pur, Juli, and Luxuslärm. This success led to appearances on various TV and radio shows. Even after SixBatts disbanded in 2011, Bennet continued performing in new musical projects – including as drummer for the band Steam from 2018 to 2020, playing around 60 shows a year.

He began his formal drum education in 1995 with Frank Ulrich, and shortly after with Karl Godejohann (of the Bielefeld jazz scene), before studying under Alex Vespa in 2009 – known for his work with artists like DJ Bobo and Lena. Since 2017, Bennet has also been a regular guest musician at the Landestheater Detmold and has been performing with artist Leonie Jael since 2023.

In addition to performing, Bennet has developed a true passion for teaching. Since founding his drum school in Detmold and expanding to an online platform, he has taught more than 500 students across Germany, Spain, and Switzerland, delivering over 15,000 lessons. His drum school, run alongside two freelance instructors, currently serves around 120 active students.
