Alesis Strata Prime Module and Cymbal Pack – with ARC Hi-Hat and Ride for E-Drum upgrades

  • PRIME drum module with 14" ARC Active Hi-Hat and 18" ARC Triple-Zone Ride in one coordinated upgrade package
  • Multi-layer BFD factory content with different articulations and detailed sound editing
  • Three playing zones for edge, bow and bell on the 18" ARC Ride
  • 14" ARC Active Hi-Hat with magnetic controller and dedicated hi-hat calibration in the PRIME
  • More than 60 trigger presets for current Alesis pads and selected third-party triggers

The Alesis Strata Prime Module and Cymbal Pack combines the PRIME drum module with the 14" ARC Active Hi-Hat and 18" ARC Triple-Zone Ride. The bundle is particularly suitable for electronic drummers who want to upgrade an existing setup with the Strata sound system and the matching ARC cymbals. The PRIME combines multi-layer BFD factory content with extensive sound, mixer and trigger editing directly from the 10.1" touchscreen. Existing pads can also remain part of the setup, as the module supports numerous Alesis triggers as well as selected third-party triggers and allows custom trigger presets to be saved.

Who is the Alesis Strata Prime Module and Cymbal Pack for?

The bundle is particularly interesting for drummers who do not necessarily need a completely new E-Drum kit but want to upgrade the drum module, hi-hat and ride together. These two cymbal positions benefit from their close integration with the PRIME: the Ride provides edge, bow and bell zones, while the Active Hi-Hat sends its movement to the module via a magnetic controller.

Compatibility and requirements

  • According to Alesis, all current Alesis pads are compatible with the PRIME module. Suitable presets are available for numerous Alesis triggers.
  • The PRIME also includes presets for selected third-party drum pads and cymbals. More than 60 trigger presets are available in total.
  • If no suitable preset is available, trigger parameters can be adjusted and saved as custom trigger presets.
  • With third-party triggers, support for individual zones and special functions must be checked on a model-by-model basis. Basic trigger operation does not automatically mean full functionality, particularly with multi-zone cymbals and hi-hats.
  • The included 14" ARC Active Hi-Hat uses a magnetic controller and can be adjusted to the setup using the PRIME's hi-hat calibration.
  • Stands are not included in the bundle. The ARC Active Hi-Hat is designed for installation on a conventional hi-hat stand.

Functions and benefits

  • More than 40 GB of multi-layer BFD factory content forms a major part of the sound library. Different articulations and sample layers allow different playing techniques and velocity levels to access corresponding sound material.
  • Many acoustic kit pieces provide several microphone channels. Depending on the instrument, these can include direct signals as well as Kick In, Kick Out, Snare Top, Snare Bottom, Overhead and Room components. This allows you to shape a drum kit from a direct sound to a mix with more pronounced room ambience directly within the module.
  • Stacks allow up to three additional sounds or articulations to be added to a primary sound. Acoustic sounds can therefore be supplemented or layered hybrid sounds can be created.
  • The BFD3 and AIR effects section provides up to three effects per instrument or individual microphone channel, offering extensive sound-shaping options within the PRIME.
  • The 18" ARC Ride provides three zones for edge, bow and bell and can be played around its entire circumference. This gives you access to different ride articulations across a large playing surface.
  • The 14" ARC Active Hi-Hat combines a triple-zone cymbal with a magnetic controller. The PRIME detects the controller movement and provides dedicated calibration for adjusting the hi-hat response to the setup.
  • Learn XTalk helps reduce unwanted crosstalk between connected triggers. Additional trigger parameters can be adjusted individually and saved.

Frequently asked questions

Can I continue using my existing pads with the PRIME?

Current Alesis pads are supported by the PRIME, with ready-made trigger presets available for numerous models. There are also presets for selected third-party triggers and the option to save custom trigger settings. With pads and cymbals from other manufacturers, however, the zones and special functions supported by the specific model should always be checked.

Why does the bundle include the hi-hat and ride?

Hi-hat and ride are cymbal positions that transmit particularly differentiated playing information. The included 18" ARC Ride provides edge, bow and bell zones, while the 14" ARC Active Hi-Hat detects movement using a magnetic controller and can be calibrated within the PRIME. Both components are therefore directly integrated with the Strata system.

What do the BFD sounds offer when playing?

The multi-layer BFD content uses different articulations and sound layers. Together with the editable microphone channels, this allows you not only to choose different instruments but also to shape the dynamics, direct sound and room components of a kit. Combined with the different playing zones of the hi-hat and ride, this provides considerably more scope for sound design than simply selecting individual samples.
